What to expect from the Lion’s Head hike?

This spectacular hike follows a spiral loop, giving incredible 360 degree views of the city, coastline and Table Mountain, all the way to the top! As we hike up, there is some exposure to heights but there is enough space on most sections of the trail to help you feel comfortable. Our guides are highly experienced at helping guests manage these sections confidently.

There are some light scrambling sections on the Lion’s Head hike and all this means is that you need your hands for some balance at times, but you’ll be happy to hear that there is no actual rock climbing involved, despite what you may have read online.

What level of fitness is required?

This hike is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. You don’t need hiking experience, but you should be comfortable walking uphill for one and a half hours with regular breaks.
